About the role
ARM Life, formerly CrystaLife Assurance Plc., is the insurance subsidiary of Asset & Resource Management Company Ltd (ARM), one of Nigeria's largest non-bank financial services firms focused on asset management, established in 1994.
The Scrum Master serves as the point person responsible for understanding the big development picture of each sprint, ensuring the team works on the right tasks at the right time and remains fully deployed. The role involves close collaboration with the Product Owner, Business Analysts, and Software Developers to translate epics, stories, and sprint items into actionable tasks, creating a transparent, outcome-driven delivery environment.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies with clear objectives and outcomes.
- Facilitate the daily stand-up and help the team reach consensus on the three questions.
- Identify, track, escalate, and drive resolution of blockers, dependencies, risks, and delivery impediments.
- Promote realistic sprint commitments based on team capacity, historical performance, technical dependencies, and operational obligations.
- Encourage Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, acceptance criteria, testability, documentation, and engineering quality practices.
- Maintain transparent Agile artefacts, action logs, dependency logs, impediment registers, and delivery dashboards.
- Support release planning and coordination across Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, Security, and Operations.
- Facilitate root-cause discussions and improvement actions when delivery targets or sprint goals are missed.
- Support multiple squads or one complex delivery squad depending on organizational structure.
- Serve the Product Owner by ensuring team understanding of goals and scope, maintaining the product backlog, and facilitating scrum events.
- Serve the development team by coaching on self-organization, removing obstacles, and facilitating scrum events.
- Serve the organization by encouraging Scrum adoption, coaching on the transition, and keeping stakeholders updated on progress.
