About the role
We are seeking a skilled Kotlin Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain event-driven connectors for our integration platform. You will own connectors end-to-end, from development to production support, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable services. This role is ideal for someone with strong JVM backend experience and a passion for integration technologies.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain event-driven connectors in Kotlin using Quarkus and Apache Camel, following the DSF connector architecture.
- Own connectors end-to-end, including development, integration testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Integrate third-party and internal APIs using production-grade security, including OAuth/JWT, request signing, mutual TLS (mTLS), and secure secrets management.
- Implement reliability patterns such as idempotency, retries with backoff, dead-letter handling, message freshness validation, and Kafka consumer group strategies.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests using QuarkusTest, Testcontainers/Kafka Dev Services, and WireMock.
- Build and deploy containerised applications using Docker and CI/CD pipelines while supporting Kubernetes deployment configuration.
- Collaborate with the Plumery engineering team on event catalogue alignment, schema versioning, and messaging standards.
- Work closely with internal platform, API gateway, monitoring, and operations teams to ensure reliable production services.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, connector specifications, operational runbooks, and support documentation.
