We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer with foundational knowledge of PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL and PostGIS to support data management, data processing and the development of data pipelines for a health information platform. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of relational databases and practical PostgreSQL experience. Experience with PostGIS, PL/pgSQL and Power BI is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work with experienced data and software engineers to build, maintain and improve data pipelines and support the preparation of reliable datasets for reporting and visualisation.

Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines.
- Work with PostgreSQL databases to store, query and manage data.
- Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Develop basic PL/pgSQL functions, procedures and database logic under guidance.
- Support the management and processing of geospatial data using PostGIS.
- Assist with data transformation, validation and quality checks.
- Prepare and transform datasets for reporting and visualisation.
- Support the development of data pipelines that feed Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Assist with troubleshooting data pipeline and database issues.
- Document data processes, queries and pipeline configurations.
- Work with software and data engineers to integrate data from different sources.
- Support data quality, consistency and integrity across systems.
- Participate in testing and optimisation of database queries and data processes.
