About the role
First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank) is Nigeria's largest financial services institution by total assets and gross earnings, with over 10 million customer accounts and more than 750 branches. The Analytics & Target Setting Officer will support the Unit Head, Risk Analysis & Profiling in delivering routine and ad-hoc deliverables of the bank's Operational Risk Management function, using data analytics to turn operational risk data into insightful information for informed decision making.

Responsibilities
- Provide support for assessing, measuring and quantifying operational risk within the bank using the approved Risk Grading matrix and other available data.
- Analyse the Bank's KRI data to determine root cause and loss drivers, including trend analysis and deep-dive analysis of risk themes such as fraud.
- Collate external risk analysis data, considering lessons learnt, potential new threats, systemic issues and triggers for targeted reviews.
- Ensure integrity of data inputs and outputs and alignment to business unit risk profiles.
- Develop and create risk reports for assessing the bank's operational risk exposures.
- Support and participate in the development of a Risk and Control Library for all products, processes, systems and activities in liaison with process owners and stakeholders.
- Carry out ad-hoc analysis of Operational Risk data as required for reporting to Business and Senior Management.
- Develop risk awareness initiatives through Oprisk newsletter and Oprisk flyers.
- Maintain the security of all information entrusted to the staff and comply with the Information Security Handbook.
